DRIVE ONE 4UR SCHOOL

On Saturday, June 2 of the reunion weekend, Ford Motor Company's "Drive One 4ur School" program will be running at Beal courtesy of Highbury Ford. Alumni can take a free test-drive of a new Ford vehicle and for each test drive Ford Canada will donate $20 to Beal. Test drives will start and end in the vehicle lane between the sports field and King Street. Look for the white tent to sign up. You will NOT be pressured to buy a vehicle and please note there is a limit of one donation per household.

RAIDERS CELEBRATE 100TH ANNIVERSARY WITH NEW OUTDOOR SCOREBOARD

With the biggest event in H.B. Beal’s history since the renovations in 2000, Beal staff and students have been preparing for a great celebration. We would like to invite all of the Beal Athletic Alumni to participate in the football, volleyball and basketball Alumni games, from
1 to 3 pm on Saturday June 2nd. One of the many additions to Beal’s Athletic Department for the 2012 year is the brand new outdoor scoreboard for the football field. The scoreboard will be purchased with the help of many donations and fundraising activities. We would like to remind the Beal Alumni that we are still seeking donations that will go towards Beal Athletics and the new outdoor scoreboard. Those that can help with a donation will have their generosity recognized and displayed on commemorative bricks. These bricks will be placed in a display wall located near the Wall of Fame Hallway outside of the gymnasiums. Donations can be made online here using PayPal (credit or debit cards) or your donation can be dropped off at the Beal Main Office using this form. There are four levels of donation amounts and they are listed below:

ONLINE REGISTRATION AND TICKET SALES TO END MAY 18

The reunion is fast approaching! Register now!

Online registration for the reunion will close on May 18. If you register now, you will have access to the priority line for receiving your registration package and goodie bag at the reunion. If you do not register before this date, you have to stand in line to fill out your registration information and goodie bags will be on a first come, first serve basis (limited quantities).

All registrations and tickets are currently on sale for $15 each! The price for registration and tickets will increase to $20 each starting May 31.

Also note that "Hairspray" performance tickets and dance tickets are only available in limited quantities due to fire code restrictions. Buy now so you will not be disappointed at the door!

HAIRSPRAY PERFORMANCE TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE

1962, Baltimore. Plump and peppy Tracy Turnblad is a high school student with a dream: to dance on the Corny Collins show. When she has that opportunity, she not only finds romance, but the chance to change the show forever by bringing integration to TV.

This widely acclaimed musical in this year’s school show will have a 4 day run earlier in May. The cast will perform a special performance for the alumni.

When: Friday, June 1, 2012, 7:30 p.m.

Tickets: $15 each. You can purchase the general admission tickets for the performance from the Tickets page. If seats are still available on the day of the show, tickets will be sold at the door for $20 each.

Limited tickets available based on fire code and licenses. Do not leave it until the last minute as tickets for this event will sell fast.

CALLING ALL CARS! - June 2ND 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

The Invitational Car Show is a celebration of the best work the Beal Transportation department has produced since the inception of the Auto Body and Mechanical programs and is part of the 100th anniversary celebrations. This show is open to all former students and teachers of the H.B. Beal Transportation department. It is also open to any vehicles that were worked on in those programs.

This is an invitation only event. If you think your vehicle represents the best of the Beal Transportation programs, graduates or teachers, etc. Please contact via email: s.fife@tvdsb.on.ca.

GLOBE SHOW 2012 - June 1ST

The Globe Show, part of the BEAL 100 celebrations, is the H. B. Beal Multicultural Club’s version of Sunfest, and we are looking for participants from our community to share their ethnic culture with our students and alumni during this centennial year’s event.

Our goal is to showcase as many cultures of the world as we can, and we need your help! We need displayers, performers, food samples, crafts, and regalia that express the wealth of diversity that is in our world. Spread the word Registration is now open for the Reunion Weekend taking place May 31 to June 3rd!!

Purchase your Reunion ticket to join in the events during the weekend and purchase a dance ticket for the Saturday night Gala. See the Tickets page for purchasing and the Events page for event details. Please note that the Beal Musical - Hair Spray also taking place that weekend requires a separate purchase through Grand Theater of London.

The donation buttons for the legacy projects are also available. Help create a lasting legacy for the next century by donating towards such projects as the Scoreboard for the track in field, park enclosure or new grand piano.

On Thursday, January 12, 2012, there will be an official recognition and a Performing Arts Gala to celebrate 100 years of education and training at H.B. Beal S.S. The program will start at 7:15 p.m. in the school's magnificent auditorium and be followed by refreshments. The cost is $10.00 and the tickets are available for purchase at the school, Tuckey's Home Hardware, Chapters Book Stores and Belle Air Music.

Herbert Benson Beal was a true pioneer in vocational, technical and art education. One hundred years ago, secondary schools, in the main, focused on academic studies. As time moved forward, Mr. Beal added business courses and the London Technical and Art School became the H.B. Beal Technical and Commercial High School. To-day it is a full-blown composite or comprehensive school offering a wide range of academic, technical, business and arts courses.

This will be a truly historic and enjoyable evening. Plan to attend.

P.S. This is not the official reunion event, as the reunion weekend will take place starting May 31 2012.

The January Gala event is fast approaching on January 12 2012 - The true 100th birthday of Beal. Please contact the school directly to purchase tickets for this evening event. This is not the reunion weekend. That will be at the end of May. You can get full details in on the event page.

The donation buttons for the legacy projects will be available December 01 2011. And the registration will follow immediately after.

Please note that the Vice-Principals will be organizing and hosting a breakfast on Saturday, June 2, 2011 for current and former teachers. Teachers are asked to speak to as many former teachers as possible.
